Policy Lunchbox: School Biology – a Future Curriculum

Join us at the next Policy Lunchbox where we will be joined by Professor Michael Reiss to discuss the future of the school science curriculum. Tickets are free but limited so reserve your place!

In England, the school science curriculum went through great changes from 1989 to about 2015. We are now in a period of relative calm. This provides an opportunity to reflect on what sort of biology curriculum we want for the future.

Michael Reiss is Professor of Science Education at UCL Institute of Education, University College London, a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences and Visiting Professor at the Universities of Kiel and York and the Royal Veterinary College. The former Director of Education at the Royal Society, he has written extensively about curricula, pedagogy and assessment in science education and has directed a very large number of research, evaluation and consultancy projects over the past twenty years funded by UK Research Councils, Government Departments, charities and international agencies.

A free buffet lunch will be served from 12:30 - 13:00, followed by the talk and questions from 13:00 - 14:00.

This event is free and includes a networking lunch. However space is limited and places must be reserved in advance.
