ECM Forum Summer Conference 2018

Are you a microbiologist in the early stages of your career? A new conference, exclusively for early career microbiologists, will be brought to you by the Early Career Microbiologists’ (ECM) Forum Executive Committee. This will take place at the University of Birmingham, 14–15 June 2018. The Summer Conference, organised by the ECM Committee Division Representatives, is a unique Microbiology Society event designed to bring together undergraduate, masters, PhD and postdoctoral researchers to progress and increase skills.

If you are an undergraduate or masters student considering a research career, this conference will give you the opportunity to present your work and gain an introductory experience to scientific conferences. As well as scientific talks by ECM Forum PhD and postdoctoral researcher members, you will hear from keynote speaker Dr Adam Roberts about his research and journey in microbiology.

As part of this unique conference experience, the professional development sessions have been designed to cater specifically to early career needs. The sessions will explore what it takes to become a successful scientist and how you can develop the mental resilience to excel within your microbiology career.

In addition, you will be able to network with fellow early career members from the breadth of the community and join the ECM Forum Committee and Division Representatives for an evening of social activities.

If you would like to submit your abstract or register to attend, visit the event's page.
