The Microbiology Society was invited to give evidence to the House of Lords Science and Technology Committee’s Life Science and the Industrial Strategy Inquiry. Professor Paul Kellam, Chair-Elect of our Policy Committee, gave oral evidence to the Committee, which can be viewed on the Committee’s website, and followed up with written evidence.  The Society highlighted the importance of microbiology for the Industrial Strategy both for biomedical science and broader areas of bioscience missing from the Life Science Strategy.

The Committee published a report calling for the Government to clarify the oversight and implementation of the Life Sciences Industrial Strategy. The report quoted the evidence provided by the Society. The full report can be accessed via the Committee’s website.
