Microbiology Society Online Roadshow 2023 – West Africa

Overview
As part of our commitment to developing, expanding and strengthening the vast networks and opportunities available to our members and local communities, the Microbiology Society is pleased to announce the first President’s Roadshow of 2023, to be hosted by Professor Philippe Sessou (University of Abomey-Calavi, Benin) and Professor Victorien Dougnon (University of Abomey-Calavi, Benin).
President Professor Gurdyal S. Besra will provide insights into his journey as a tuberculosis (TB) researcher; attendees will have the opportunity to join a discussion with the President, as well as find out more about the wide range of opportunities at the Society, and network with other local microbiologists.
The event will take place on Friday 24 February via Zoom.
During the event, attendees will have an opportunity to:
- Meet our President, Professor Gurdyal S. Besra FMedSci FRS.
- Network with local like-minded people and join our speed networking session.
- Find out why microbiology and being part of the Microbiology Society matters.
- Learn how to get more involved with the Society and find out more about the wide range of opportunities at the Society to advance your career, build your networks, raise your profile and communicate your work.
Who should attend?
Anyone with an interest in microbiology or wanting to find out more about the Microbiology Society, based in or with a connection to West Africa.
All Roadshow events are free to attend. You will need to register in advance, so numbers can be monitored to allow for better networking and engagement during the event.
