Career Conference Grants
These grants offer Undergraduate Student Members a contribution towards the cost of travel to the Royal Society of Biology Bioscience Careers Day.
The Bioscience Careers Day is aimed primarily at undergraduates and recent graduates. To find out more about this event please see the Royal Society of Biology website.

Applications for the 2021 Bioscience Careers Day will open in July 2021.

Applicants must be Undergraduate Student Members who are in their penultimate or final year of study at the time of the Bioscience Careers Day, and who have not received a Career Conference Grant previously.
Grants will contribute a maximum of £50 towards travel expenses.
Applications should be made online via Mi Society. All required supplementary material should be provided at the point of application. Full expected costs of attendance should be given in the appropriate part of the application
Grants will be awarded on a first come first served basis up to a set budget.
Career Conference Grant applications are reviewed by the Society’s Professional Development team against the following criteria:
- Applicant is an Active Undergraduate Student Member of the Society.
- Applicant makes a clear and well-justified statement as to the benefit gained by attending the Bioscience Careers Day.
- Applicant is aware of the programme of the day, will take advantage of the sessions on offer, and makes reference to long term plans to use information gained from attendance.
Applicants will be notified of an awarded grant via email. The grant award will also be displayed on the Mi Society account under ‘Grant History’.
To claim your grant, applicants should log into Mi Society, and upload evidence of their claim (this can be receipts or invoices, and evidence of attendance) when completing the grant claim form.
Awarded funds will be paid to the applicant’s nominated account by bank transfer within one month of an award claim being made.
Applicants are responsible for their own conference registration.
