Microbiology Society Roadshow 2019

As part of our commitment to developing, expanding and strengthening the vast networks and opportunities available to our members, the Microbiology Society is hosting a series of events led by President Professor Judith Armitage throughout the UK and Ireland during 2019.

Local engagement

Late summer/early autumn 2018, the Society conducted a membership survey giving members an opportunity to have their say about current services and benefits. One of the key themes to emerge from the survey was a desire from the membership for more local engagement. In addition, as Professor Judith Armitage embarks on the first year of her presidency, her aim is to meet as many members as possible and make sure the voice of the Microbiology Society is heard.

Event series

We have designed a series of events to reach the wider membership and bring members (and non-members) together on a local level. Attendees will be given a unique opportunity to engage in interactive discussions, find out how they can get more involved with Society activities, network, meet the new President, find out about our plans for our 75th Anniversary in 2020 and more. At each event, we will also have a topical discussion.

Please note: Each event will be tailored to meet the needs of the audience and so it is important to register in advance of the event.

We have recently confirmed two new locations.  Whilst registration is not yet open, you are able to register your interest below.

Please see registration details for all other upcoming roadshow events below.

Meet the President

If you are unable to attend any of the events above, Professor Judith Armitage will be attending the Annual Conference 2019 where there will also be an opportunity to meet with her on 8 April at the Society stand around lunch time.

If you have any questions about the Roadshow or would like to arrange a time to meet with Professor Judith Armitage, please contact Erin Taylor.

Roadshows in 2020

We are planning to host additional Roadshows throughout 2020. If you would like to host a future event, please contact Erin Taylor.
