Publish in X-AMR, a pop-up journal from the Microbiology Society.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a cross-disciplinary issue. Yet finding a home for the unique publications from this research is often difficult. The Microbiology Society is providing such a home with a new pop-up journal for cross-disciplinary research on antimicrobial resistance: X-AMR.

Any high-quality work that includes or uses a cross-disciplinary approach to investigate any aspect of AMR will be considered for publication in X-AMR.

We are especially keen to encourage submissions in the following areas:

  • Diagnostics and therapeutics (novel, combination and alternative)
  • Environment and ecology of resistance
  • Epidemiology and infection control
  • Genomic and microbiological studies
  • Mathematical modelling
  • Pharmacokinetic behaviour and pharmacodynamics
  • Policy and regulatory perspectives
  • Resistance to antimicrobials, antifungals or antivirals
  • Societal, cultural or economic determinants
  • Stewardship and surveillance
  • Veterinary, One Health and agricultural dimensions

We will publish reviews, mini-reviews, research articles, methods articles and commentaries.  Find information about the journal on Twitter - #XAMR.

When you choose the Microbiology Society journal that best fits with your article (such has Microbiology, Journal of General Virology, Journal of Medical Microbiology or Microbial Genomics) submit your work as normal through the journal’s online submission system, mentioning ‘Submission to X-AMR’ in the cover letter.
