The Microbiology Society is pleased to announce the dates of the rescheduled Candida and Candidiasis meeting, which will be delivered as a digital event on 21 - 27 March 2021.

The event will incorporate all scientific sessions that were planned for the in-person event, which was scheduled to take place in Montreal, Canada earlier this year. All those that had abstracts accepted for oral or poster presentation at the physical meeting will be offered the opportunity to present their work at the digital event next year.

New abstract submissions relating to all aspects of Candida biology can be submitted for online poster presentation and a very limited number of abstracts will be selected for additional oral presentation slots at the digital event. Submit a new abstract here. The deadline for new submissions is Friday 8 January 2021.

The event will provide a vital online forum for the Candida research community to strengthen relationships, form collaborations, share knowledge and present the latest advances and ideas about:

  • The diagnosis and treatment of Candida infections
  • Antifungal drug resistance
  • The genomics and epidemiology of the Candida clade
  • The molecular mechanisms that underpin Candida pathobiology
  • The immunological responses of the host to the fungus

The organising committee are currently developing the event programme, which will feature plenary and parallel video presentation sessions, poster viewing sessions and will include plenty of opportunities for discussion and networking.

Further updates, including details on registration and the digital event platform, will be provided on the event webpage and on our social media channels in the lead up to the event.
