Focused Meeting Avian Viruses

The early bird registration rate for the Focused Meeting on the Molecular Biology and Pathogenesis of Avian Viruses is available until Sunday 5 August. Take advantage of the early bird rate and save money on your fee by registering for this Focused Meeting before the deadline.

Molecular Biology and Pathogenesis of Avian Viruses is taking place between 3-4 September at St Catherine's College, University of Oxford, UK. The programme is now live on our website.

You can register to attend this meeting here.

Following on from the highly successful meeting of the same title held in London in September 2016, this meeting brings together those working on key, often novel, aspects of the molecular biology and pathogenesis of a range of important avian viruses.

It looks at studies of host–virus interactions using genetics, genomics, transcriptomics and proteomics, including the innate (particularly interferon) responses. It also covers developments in epidemiology, especially based on metagenomics, to survey and better understand potential threats in poultry and wild birds.

Speakers include:

  • Professor Karen Beemon (Johns Hopkins University)
  • Dr Hui-Wen Chen (Department of Veterinary Medicine, National Taiwan University)
  • Professor Janet Daly (School of Veterinary Medicine and Science, University of Nottingham )
  • Professor Joanne Devlin (Asia-Pacific Centre for Animal Health)
  • Professor Paul Digard (The Roslin Institute, University of Edinburgh)
  • Professor Chan Ding (Shanghai Veterinary Research Institute)
  • Professor Jiri Hejnar (Institute of Molecular Genetics, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic)
  • Dr Helene Verheije (Veterinary Medicine, Utrecht University)
  • Dr Yongxiu Yao (The Pirbright Institute)
  • Professor Steve Goodbourn (Organiser), (St George's, University of London)
