We are delighted to announce that the Early Career Microbiologists’ Forum (ECM) Summer Conference will be returning this summer.

The ECM flagship event has previously taken place around the UK and welcomed early career members to experience a peer-led scientific conference. This year the event will take place online from 28–29 September 2021.

The Summer Conference, organised by the ECM Committee Division Representatives, is a unique Microbiology Society event designed to bring together undergraduate, masters, PhD and postdoctoral researchers to experience scientific talks and professional development sessions tailored to the needs of early career researchers.

Following on from the success of our ECM Online events on the ECM Forum LinkedIn platform, attendees will have the opportunity to make up for the lost networking time with a dedicated networking session. During the professional development sessions attendees will hear about funding opportunities and gain inspiration and practical advice from grant recipients. As many researchers now look to explore the breadth of careers available to microbiologists, attendees will also learn from the experience of speakers who have taken their career outside of academia.

If you would like to submit your abstract or register to attend, visit the event page

Further information will be announced in the build up to the Conference on our social media channels. Follow us on Twitter @MicrobioSoc using the hashtag #ECMConf21.
