The first President’s Roadshow of 2023 will take place online on Friday 24 February.

The event will be hosted by Professor Philippe Sessou and Professor Victorien Dougnon from the University of Abomey-Calavi, Benin. This will be a great opportunity to meet our President, Professor Gurdyal S. Besra, whilst also networking with microbiologists in the region of West Africa.

During the Roadshow, the President will share insights into his successful career in microbiology and his journey as a Tuberculosis (TB) researcher. You will also have a chance to hear about opportunities to get involved with the Society, including applying for or reviewing grants. Professor Iruka N Okeke (University of Ibadan, Nigeria and Senior Editor of Microbial Genomics) will provide more information about publishing in our journals; plus, you can find out about our Champions Scheme from Joseph Acolatse (Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, Ghana and Microbiology Society Champion) and about opportunities available for early career microbiologists from Raphael P. Galleh (University of Sheffield, UK, Early Career Microbiologists' Forum Executive Committee member and Scientific Conferences Panel member).

Don’t miss this opportunity to network with microbiologists in the region and possibly find your next collaborator!

More information about the event and registration is available on the event page.
