The event takes place 26–28 June 2019 at County Hotel, Newcastle, UK. It will explore the theme of ‘Discovery to Impact’, in which fundamental research themes are integrated with applied themes, including biotechnological applications of yeasts, yeasts as disease models, and pathogenic yeasts.

He holds the titles of UT Southwestern Presidential Scholar, Martha Steiner Professorship in Medical Research, and W.W. Caruth, Jr. Scholar in Biomedical Research. His lab is interested in understanding how fundamental cellular processes are coordinated with metabolism and the metabolic state of the cell.
