Start Annual Conference 2017 with our annual networking event

23 November 2016

Pre-Conference networking event 2016

On the Sunday ahead of our Annual Conference next year, the Microbiology Society will host a session to give early career researchers the chance to meet other delegates and hone their networking skills.

Participants will get to take part in activities designed to help them meet as many people as possible, and also have the chance to practice networking with senior members of the Society. This event is a perfect opportunity for delegates to gather an audience for their presentation later in the week, and meet future collaborators.

In previous years, delegates have found this event a great way to meet people from different specialisms and different levels of academia, and have found that the chance to practice networking has helped them to speak with scientists further in their career. Some have even found colleagues who can help with experiments that had hit roadblocks.

"This was a great way to meet new people, especially when I didn't know many."
– Participant, Annual Conference 2016

The networking event will take place from 18:00–20:00, 2 April 2016. Tickets are available for £20 and include a packed schedule of activities, dinner and drinks. Delegates can book via the online conference registration system. Be sure to book your place early to avoid disappointment – this event sells out very quickly.

If you would like to present your work at the 2017 Annual Conference, abstract submission is still open until 23:59 on Monday 12 December 2016. You can also take advantage of the early bird registration rates until Friday 3 March 2017. Submit your abstract and register now.
