Destination Belfast

30 January 2019

Belfast is the capital of Northern Ireland and home to the Microbiology Society Annual Conference 2019. This year’s conference features an extensive programme designed to cover the breadth of microbiology, as well as professional development sessions, social activities and lots of networking opportunities.

Belfast is well connected by road, rail and ferry, and with two local airports the city is accessible by air from both UK and international destinations.

Getting around

Belfast is a very walkable city, and also has a useful public transport network provided by the public bus company Translink. Public bikes are also available to hire with over 30 docking stations across the city centre.

The Annual Conference venue, the ICC Belfast, is located within short walking distance of the train station, Belfast Lanyon Place. You can also find the city centre and a number of attractions nearby. Plan your visit by downloading the Belfast Visitor Map here.
