Policy events and workshops
The Microbiology Society runs policy events in the UK and Ireland. Leading microbiologists are invited to give short presentations about developments in their field of research. These talks highlight the policy issues and deliver the key facts.
Politicians are encouraged to participate in debate and discussion with scientists and engage with exhibiting organisations about the work that they do.
Society staff and members will be attending Parliamentary Links Day 2018.
Society staff and members attended Science and the Assembly 2018 at the Senedd in Cardiff.
Members joined the Society’s Policy Committee for a workshop to help develop the Society’s key policy positions relating to the research environment, including issues such as funding, infrastructure, people and research culture.
