Event proposals and conference grants

We actively encourage members to complete proposals for both Annual Conference sessions and Focused Meetings to develop our programme each year. You can also apply for a Society-Supported Conference Grant to contribute towards speaker expenses at established events.

Please ensure you submit your proposal and applications on time to be considered by our Scientific Conference Committee.

    Society-Supported Conference grant

    Awards of up to £2,000 are available to members who wish to organise a conference (in person or virtual) in any field of microbiology, either independently or in partnership with another Society.
