We are fundraising to support your microbiology community
The Microbiology Society is fundraising to unlock the potential of microbiology research and provide maximum benefit to society. Our members are involved in addressing challenges that vary from urgent problems demanding immediate solutions, such as new and emerging diseases, to long-term issues, like antimicrobial drug resistance, food security and environmental sustainability. They have a unique depth and breadth of knowledge about microbiology, and our role is to help unlock and harness their potential.
The scientific landscape is changing rapidly, and we face challenging circumstances to generate the income needed to support our community. Most of the Society’s income comes from its publishing operations, with smaller additional contributions from member subscriptions and event fees. However, given radical changes to the business of publishing, this will not be the case in the future. We are diversifying our income to ensure we can continue to support our members across our community in a constantly changing environment.
We are fundraising to support more microbiologists in their research, which might one day provide solutions to truly global challenges. Just as the Society is facing challenging times, we know that many microbiologists are under increasing and unprecedented pressure within their place of work or study. We would like to give those in our community who are in a position to help, the opportunity to support others.
We need your help to raise vital funds and invite you to get involved by donating to our campaign to unlock the potential of microbiologists to focus on the grand challenges of research and help us continue our work for your community, for the benefit of all of us.
