Call for input on UK Standards for Microbiology Investigations (UK SMI) syndromic documents

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) is looking for feedback on the effectiveness of the current format of UK Standards for Microbiology Investigations (UK SMI) syndromic documents.
 

These syndromic documents are designed to guide standard laboratory processing and support clinicians by informing the development of order sets or syndromic test panels. To date, each document has been structured around a specific body system or grouping of clinical presentations and includes diagnostic algorithms to guide the selection of appropriate microbiological investigations and sample types.

In 2019, UK SMIs shifted to a collaborative approach, integrating bacteriology, virology, mycology, and parasitology into unified syndromic documents. Now, five years into the development of these syndromic documents, UKHSA would like to reflect on the progress made and understand how they have been received by UK SMI users.
