We are pleased to announce that the Journal of General Virology is now affiliated with the American Society for Virology.

Founded in 1981, the American Society for Virology (ASV) promotes the exchange of information and aims to stimulate discussion and collaboration among virologists. ASV members will now receive a 10% discount off article processing charges for publishing open access articles in Journal of General Virology (JGV).

“We encourage ASV members to take advantage of the opportunity and consider JGV, an ASV-affiliated journal, for future publications,” said Stacey Schultz-Cherry, President, American Society for Virology.

“Speaking on behalf of the Editors and staff of JGV, we hope that this affiliation will develop into a successful and long-term collaboration between the Journal and ASV. We also look forward to publishing many more high-quality research papers from ASV members in the future,” said Mark Harris, Editor-in-Chief, Journal of General Virology.

This year in its continuing efforts to support the virological community, Journal of General Virology will also be sponsoring the Ann Palmenberg Junior Investigator Award at ASV2018. The award, which was established in 2013, recognises junior investigators who have made significant contributions to the field of virology and who display exceptional promise.

Microbiology Society members are reminded that they also receive a discount for article processing charges. Contact [email protected] for more information.
