This International Women’s Day, we want to highlight an important session taking place as part of the Annual Conference 2025 programme. Society Champion, Enas Newire, is organising the session ‘Women Microbiologists in Academia: Challenges and Opportunities’.

The session is dedicated to addressing the challenges and opportunities faced by women microbiologists in academia, throughout their career stages. It will be a chance for members to reflect on their experiences and share ideas on the leaky pipeline phenomenon. It will also be an opportunity to learn from each other’s vast experiences and successes.

You can join the session at Annual Conference 2025 on Wednesday 2 April from 13:00–13:45 in Hall 12 of the ACC Liverpool. Find out more via our online programme.
