Members share their stories of the response to SARS-CoV-2
16 February 2022
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, microbiologists have been working tirelessly to understand SARS-CoV-2, the virus which causes COVID-19, and its implications for public health. The Microbiology Society’s vibrant community of microbiologists have been amongst those on the frontline battling the novel coronavirus to protect the public, whilst learning to navigate the restrictions as normality ceased.
Microbiology is at the centre of emerging infectious diseases, and we are honoured to give our members a platform to share stories of how they responded to SARS-CoV-2.
Each week, we will be publishing case studies detailing the experiences of microbiologists during the pandemic. Their involvement varies from working in diagnostic labs to researching SARS-CoV-2’s mechanism of action and engaging with public education.
You can find the first release of case studies on our SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19 content hub, where new stories will be added weekly.
