Microbiology Society: call for input on Ireland’s next National Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance
15 November 2024
The Microbiology Society is calling on microbiologists across Ireland to provide valuable input for the next iteration of the Irish One Health National Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR). With the current plan nearing its end, this is a critical opportunity to influence the direction of AMR policy in Ireland.
AMR remains one of the most significant threats to global health, with serious implications for human, animal, and environmental health. The current Irish One Health National Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance (iNAP2) has been a key framework in guiding national efforts to tackle AMR. As we approach the end of iNAP2, there is an opportunity to bring together policymakers and the research community in Ireland to tackle AMR. Currently, the research community lacks a voice in the conversation.
The Microbiology Society has launched a survey to gather insights and recommendations from the microbiology community in Ireland. Your feedback will play a crucial role in shaping the next National Action Plan on AMR, ensuring it addresses the most pressing challenges and leverages the strengths of the current research and development landscape.
To participate, please fill out our survey by 6 December.
