The Microbiology Society is pleased to announce a new collaborative workshop with the Healthcare Infection Society, Bridging the Clinical-Research Gap. Taking place in London on 21 November, this pilot workshop aims to bring clinicians and researchers together to learn about the intricacies of collaborative research and learn from the experience of others who have been there before.

The aim of the workshop is to facilitate collaborative partnerships, and showcase some of the funding opportunities available to early- and mid-career microbiologists and trainee and consultant clinicians who are interested in exploring ways to expand the impact of their research, on both sides of the partnership. We aim to start a network of those interested in working together, and find out ways for the Society to support continued collaborations using microbiology to meet clinical needs.

Spaces on this workshop are limited and participation will be by application; successful applicants will be notified in the beginning of October. Applications will be considered by the meeting conveners.

To find out more about the workshop, please visit the meeting page, which will be updated as more information becomes available. Bursaries will be made available to those requiring support to attend. If you are interested in attending this meeting but are not able to attend please do register your interest in attending potential future events (which may be held in other parts of the UK and Ireland) by emailing [email protected].
