New membership category for Undergraduate and Master's Students

Over the past year the Microbiology Society has been carrying out a full membership review to ensure that Microbiology Society membership is up to date with the ongoing changes in the scientific landscape. We've spoken to our Governance members, launched surveys and reviewed what you want from membership. 

Thank you for your feedback. We've heard you – Society membership boosts your career development and you want us to maximise opportunities offered to you as members, such as access to grants and support for attending events. We're making changes to make that happen. 

The first update is here. We have created a new Undergraduate and Master's Student category of membership. This category was previously only accessible to Undergraduate students, however we understand that for many students, sourcing funding to support studying for a Master’s is a challenge. By making this category accessible to Master's students they get the same benefits for only £26 per year. We hope this will encourage those starting out on their microbiology career to join the Society and be part of our community throughout their academic journey.
