Congratulations to Afifah Tasnim for winning the Sir Howard Dalton Early Career Microbiologist of the Year Poster Prize 2024

Each year, the Microbiology Society awards prizes to members presenting work at the Society's Annual Conference or Irish Division meeting. The prize recognises and rewards excellence in science communication by a member in the early stages of their career. 

Since 2024, the competition has been separated into two streams: talk and poster presentations.

The finals for the Sir Howard Dalton Early Career Microbiologist of the Year Poster Prizes was held at the Early Career Summer Conference in Glasgow where finalists presented a flash talk and their poster to attendees and judges. 

The results were: 

1st place: Afifah Tasnim 

2nd place: Phillipa Hall

3rd place: Emmet Campbell
