Lead from the helm! Vacancies on Council

The discipline of microbiology has been thrust into the spotlight with the outbreak of the novel virus SARS-CoV-2, causing COVID-19. This brought with it huge unforeseen opportunities and challenges for our Society, and you could be part of the governing body that harnesses this.

The Council of the Society normally consists of 16 members. Six representatives are elected by the membership, seven are Chairs and co-Chairs of our Committees, and three are the Executive Officers: the President, the General Secretary and the Treasurer. Council appoints the Executive Officers and co-Chairs of Committees from a selection of candidates nominated by you, the members. For details on these roles and how to get involved, visit the Council Appointed Positions page.
