The Journal of Medical Microbiology and Journal of General Virology are delighted to announce that two prizes will be awarded during the Avian Infectious Diseases 2021 Focused Meeting taking place on 15–17 September 2021.

The chairs of the Scientific Organising Committee, Holly Shelton (The Pirbright Institute, UK) and Andrew Broadbent (The Pirbright Institute, UK and University of Maryland, USA) announced the prizes below:

“The meeting is aimed at bringing together the community of researchers that work on avian infectious diseases, and to that end, we welcome the chance to hear from a diverse selection of researchers, including those at early career stages. We are delighted to be supported in this aim by the Microbiology Society journals: the Journal of Medical Microbiology (JMM) and Journal of General Virology (JGV), who have generously offered prizes for the best offered paper oral presentation and the best flash presentation. We hope this encourages a wide range of topics and researchers to submit abstracts to this exciting meeting to be held in September 2021.”

Abstract Submission is now open for the meeting and don't forget to register your place

Further information will be announced in the build up to the meeting. Follow updates on Facebook and LinkedIn, and join conversation about the event on Twitter (@MicrobioSoc) using the hashtag #Avian21.
