Annual Conference 2020 will include a series of Essential Skills sessions running throughout the conference programme. This year we are excited to announce an innovative series designed to enhance professional skills in microbiology and beyond.

The first session in the series will be a session on entrepreneurship on Wednesday 1 April. The session will welcome science entrepreneurs and inspiring individuals who have transformed their science and research into successful businesses.

During the first half of the session, David Mead, Director of Business Development at Isogenica, will share his expertise in international partnering for trade, investment, intellectual property and UK life science companies, and will present business considerations when starting a business. A networking break will then provide delegates with the opportunity to meet all of our invited speakers and get first-hand advice on individual business ideas and making the transition to becoming an entrepreneur.

Basil Omar, co-founder of CHAIN Biotechnology and Deborah O’Neil, founder of NovaBiotics, will then present their journeys from research to starting a business and provide valuable insight and lessons learnt.

Essential Skills sessions are open to all delegates registered for Annual Conference 2020. Find out more on the Annual Conference programme page and register your interest online.
