Changes to our Society Conference Grants and Travel Grant schemes
25 October 2023

The Microbiology Society is a membership charity and not-for-profit publisher. We support and invest in the microbiology community for the benefit of everyone. In order to do this as effectively as possible; to seize opportunities as they arise and, to meet the ambition of our strategy 2023-2027, we are evolving.
At the Society, our aim is to deliver the widest possible participation in our programmes and to ensure diverse representation from across our global membership. This will ensure we live up to our value to be welcoming to all and amplify the voices of all of our members, irrespective of location or career stage.
Over the coming months our members will see several changes to our activities ranging from the delivery of our communications to the way we administer grants and how we organise events.
We are starting by making changes to our Society Conference Grants and Travel Grant schemes to make our grants easier for you.
Grants to attend any of our Society events will now be funded through our Society Event Grant
We are delighted to announce that any member – irrespective of location – in any of the following grades can now apply for funding if they have held membership for a minimum period of one year and paid two consecutive membership fees.
