Journal of Medical Microbiology is the go-to interdisciplinary journal for medical, dental and veterinary microbiology, at the bench and in the clinic. It provides comprehensive coverage of medical, dental and veterinary microbiology and infectious diseases, welcoming articles ranging from laboratory research to clinical trials, including bacteriology, virology, mycology and parasitology.

We are currently looking to appoint a Deputy Editor-in-Chief to closely work with the incoming Editor-in-Chief Professor Tim Inglis (University of Western Australia, Crawley, Australia) on editorial strategy for the journal. You will work together developing the editorial strategy of the journal, and will work with the Society and our colleagues at the Federation of Infection Societies to develop new content for the journal and our meetings. The Deputy Editor-in-Chief will be in office for at least three years and will be required to attend an annual Editorial Board meeting, as well as at least two Senior Editor meetings. When the current Editor-in-Chief retires in March 2025, the expectation is that the Deputy Editor-in-Chief will take on the role of Editor-in-Chief, after ratification by Council.

Please see a full job description and details of how to apply on our jobs page. The closing date for applications is 14 March 2022.
