The Microbiology Society Annual Conference 2022 is fast approaching and, in addition to the scientific programme, the Society will be hosting a series of professional development sessions for all attendees to enjoy. Our Essential Skills sessions will cover a broad range of topics including publishing fundamentals and microbiology careers outside of academia, and 2022 will see the return of our Teaching Microbiology in Higher Education symposium.

The Society will also be running a series of prizes and competitions in recognition of excellence in science communication within the early-and-mid-career membership. These include the Sir Howard Dalton Young Microbiologist of the Year competition, recognising outstanding science communication, and the Infection Science Award, acknowledging excellence in translational research from early career researchers and trainee doctors.

The Annual Conference has been accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science (category: Professional Activity), Royal College of Pathologists (35 CPD points) and the Royal Society of Biology (35 CPD points). Those wishing to claim CPD credits will be able to request them and certificates of attendance after the event.
