Have you washed your hands?

15 October is Global Handwashing Day. The partnership promotes handwashing with soap to improve health and save lives around the world.
Washing your hands is a simple, cheap and effective way of preventing the spread of germs and disease – but many of us don’t wash our hands as often as we should.
Bacteria and viruses from faeces, raw meat and sneezes are easily spread to other objects and people, and can cause serious infections. Diseases like diarrhoea and pneumonia kill millions of people globally each year, but many of these deaths could be prevented simply by providing people with soap and promoting good practice.
Making handwashing into a habit is an easy way to stop infections and stay healthy. You can find more resources from the Society about handwashing here.
