Irish Department for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science consultation on a Higher Education Research-Policy Framework

The Microbiology Society responded to a consultation launched by the Government of Ireland Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science on a Higher Education Research-Policy Engagement Framework.

We consulted with Microbiology Society members that have direct experience of the Irish Higher Education system, and submitted a response that reflects their opinions and experiences. In our response, we highlight that there are currently minimal visible opportunities to formally or informally engage with national policy activities in Ireland. We also provide recommendations for driving policy engagement, and flag tried and tested mechanisms for facilitating knowledge exchange.
