The British Yeast Group: Embracing Variation 2018 Focused Meeting took place in Leicester between 27–29 June. This year's meeting included eight sessions, 18 offered papers, 17 posters and a full social programme offering everything from a beer tasting to a live band.  We’ve turned to Twitter to look at some of the highlights of the meeting.

During the three-day meeting, an expansive programme with a variety of talks offered something for everyone.

From wine microbiomes...

...to gene clusters...

...spindle orientation in budding yeast...

...Rif1...

...and the Carl Singer Foundation Session.

Early Career Researchers were well represented among the delegates.

One of the highlights of the social programme was a performance by the band Cocked n' Loaded.

There was also time to watch the England vs Belgium World Cup Game.

We were happy to hear from delegates who had a great experience at the meeting.

Thank you to all the delegates, speakers and poster presenters, we hope to see you again at a Society event soon.
