What to look forward to on day two of Annual Conference Online 2021
In the afternoon, Professor Graham Hatfull (University of Pittsburgh, USA), will present the Peter Wildy Prize Lecture 2021. His talk titled ‘Who wouldn’t want to discover a new virus?’ starts after a short introduction by the President at 17:30 BST.

Today’s poster sessions will run from 18:30–19:30 BST. Below is a list of the sessions taking place:

Social sessions
Spend your lunch laughing – join the Microbiology Society’s Early Career Microbiologists’ (ECM) Forum Chair at lunchtime (13:00–13:30 BST) for a short session of online comedy.
Later on, at 15:00–15:30 BST, scientist-turned-artist, Dr Lizzie Burns, will guide you through origami and finding parallels with protein structures at the ‘Fold a Virus & Vaccine Workshop’.
At 19:30 BST, we’ll be holding an hour-long networking session for all delegates, using SpatialChat to allow you to connect with other members of the microbiology community on an interactive online platform.
