Your images

We know microbes are very diverse, they are fascinating and modern imaging techniques show they can be very beautiful. We would like to give others in the field a glimpse of your research, your collaborations and the science of microbiology. We are looking for significant high-quality photos such as a eureka moment in your lab, or a process you have been able to capture using imagery, a microscopical photo that shows the structure of the microbe you work on, a special encounter or a meeting with one of your heroes.

Images will be promoted across activities throughout our 75th anniversary year. We will credit all names supplied as part of image submissions.

Promote your work in a visual showcase of science in 2020

Images will be promoted across activities throughout our 75th anniversary year. We will credit all names supplied as part of image submissions.

In addition to welcoming image submissions of science, nature, people, places and from the laboratory; this year Journal of General Virology invites members of the microbiology community to participate in the Microbiology Images project and submit the next Journal of General Virology profile image. This image will be the visual identity of the journal: featured on the journal website and on all journal marketing materials.

We welcome high-quality electron microscopy images, fluorescence imaging, super-resolution microscopy, and high-resolution structural models. The chosen image will be reviewed and selected by an expert panel of virologists, and the contributor will be fully credited across journal marketing materials.

Submit your microbiology images and don't forget to share your involvement via Twitter using the hashtags #MicroImages and #MicrobioSoc75th.
